Overview
Different banks have different policies regarding cryptocurrency transactions. While many banks allow payments to Mercuryo, some banks may decline or restrict crypto-related transactions.
To help improve your chances of a successful payment, we've identified banks that have historically shown a higher success rate with Mercuryo transactions.
Please note: A successful transaction cannot be guaranteed. Your bank may approve or decline a payment based on its own policies, security checks, spending limits, or other factors.

What Does "Recommended" Mean?
Banks shown as Recommended have historically demonstrated a higher success rate for payments made through Mercuryo.
However, transaction approval always depends on your bank's own policies and security checks. Even if a bank is listed as recommended, individual transactions may still be declined.
Why Was My Payment Declined?
A payment may be declined for several reasons, including:
- Your bank does not support cryptocurrency transactions.
- The transaction was flagged by your bank's fraud prevention or security systems.
- Your card has spending or online payment restrictions.
- The transaction exceeded your bank's limits.
- Temporary technical or security checks prevented the payment.
Mercuryo cannot override or change your bank's decision to approve or decline a transaction.
What If My Bank Isn't Listed?
If your bank does not appear in the tool, it does not necessarily mean it won't work.
The tool highlights banks with higher historical success rates, but other banks may also successfully process payments through Mercuryo.
Can I Improve My Chances of Success?
You may have a better chance of completing your transaction by:
- Using a bank that appears as Recommended in the tool.
- Checking with your bank that cryptocurrency purchases are permitted.
- Ensuring your card is enabled for online and international payments (where applicable).
- Trying a different supported payment method if available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Mercuryo decide whether my payment is approved?
No. Your bank is responsible for approving or declining card payments.
If my bank is recommended, does that guarantee my payment will succeed?
No. Recommendation means the bank has historically shown a higher success rate, but each transaction is assessed individually by your bank.
My payment was declined. Can Mercuryo unblock my card?
No. Only your bank can remove restrictions or approve future transactions.
My bank isn't listed. Can I still use Mercuryo?
Yes. The absence of a bank from the list does not mean payments will always fail. Many banks that aren't listed may still support transactions.
Do recommended banks ever stop supporting crypto payments?
Yes. Banks may update their cryptocurrency policies at any time. As a result, payment outcomes can change over time.
