Mercuryo allows you to sell supported cryptocurrencies and receive fiat currency using the payout methods available in your region.

This guide explains how to sell cryptocurrency, what information you'll need to provide, and what to check before sending your crypto.

Before You Sell

Before starting a sell transaction, please make sure that:

• Selling is available in your country or region.
• The cryptocurrency you're selling is supported by Mercuryo.
• You have selected a supported payout method.
• You will send the exact amount displayed during checkout.
• You will send your cryptocurrency to the wallet address generated specifically for your transaction.

Important: Cryptocurrency transactions are generally irreversible. Always verify the wallet address and blockchain network before sending your cryptocurrency.

How to Sell Cryptocurrency

The selling process is similar whether you're using the Mercuryo website, a supported partner application, or the Mercuryo mobile app.

Step 1: Choose the cryptocurrency

Select the cryptocurrency you'd like to sell.

Step 2: Enter the amount

Enter the amount of cryptocurrency you want to sell.

You'll see an estimated payout before continuing.

Step 3: Choose your payout method

Select where you'd like to receive your fiat funds.

The available payout methods depend on your country and the payment methods supported for your transaction.

Step 4: Provide a return wallet address

If requested, enter a return wallet address.

This address will only be used if Mercuryo is unable to complete your transaction and needs to return your cryptocurrency.

Step 5: Review your transaction

Carefully review:

• The cryptocurrency you're selling.
• The amount.
• The payout details.
• The wallet address generated by Mercuryo.

Step 6: Send your cryptocurrency

Send the exact amount of cryptocurrency to the wallet address generated for your transaction.

Once the required blockchain confirmations have been received, your payout will be processed.

Selling Through a Partner App or Widget

If you're selling cryptocurrency through a supported wallet, exchange, or Web3 application:

1. Open the Sell section.
2. Select Mercuryo as your provider, if prompted.
3. Choose the cryptocurrency you want to sell.
4. Enter the amount.
5. Select your payout method.
6. Provide a return wallet address if requested.
7. Review the transaction details.
8. Send the cryptocurrency to the wallet address provided by Mercuryo.

Note: The checkout experience may vary slightly depending on the partner platform.

Selling Through the Mercuryo Wallet

If you're using the Mercuryo Wallet:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Open your Wallet.
3. Select the cryptocurrency you'd like to sell.
4. Tap Sell.
5. Enter the amount.
6. Select your payout method.
7. Review the transaction details.
8. Send your cryptocurrency to the wallet address provided.

Selling Through the Mobile App

If you're using the Mercuryo mobile app:

1. Open the app and sign in.
2. Select the cryptocurrency you want to sell.
3. Tap Sell.
4. Enter the amount.
5. Choose your payout method.
6. Review the transaction details.
7. Confirm the transaction.
8. Send your cryptocurrency to the wallet address provided.

Sending more or less than the requested amount may delay processing or prevent your transaction from being completed successfully.

Use the Wallet Address Generated for Your Transaction

Each sell transaction is assigned its own wallet address.

Do not reuse wallet addresses from previous transactions.

Always send your cryptocurrency to the address displayed for your current transaction.

Return Wallet Address

A return wallet address allows Mercuryo to return your cryptocurrency if your transaction cannot be completed.

Please note: Return wallet addresses do not support:

• XRP Destination Tags
• Stellar (XLM) Memos

Please provide a compatible wallet that does not require additional destination information.

Blockchain Confirmations

Your cryptocurrency must receive the required number of blockchain confirmations before your sell transaction can be processed.

The time required depends on:

• The cryptocurrency you're selling.
• Current blockchain network activity.
• The number of confirmations required.

Why can't I see the Sell option?

The Sell feature may not be available because:

• Selling isn't supported in your country or region.
• The cryptocurrency you've selected isn't available for selling.
• The payout method isn't available for your transaction.

Why do I need to provide a return wallet address?

Can I use an XRP wallet with a Destination Tag or an XLM wallet with a Memo?

No.

Return wallet addresses do not support XRP Destination Tags or Stellar (XLM) Memos.

What happens if I send the wrong amount?

Sending an incorrect amount may delay processing or prevent your sell transaction from being completed.

How long does a sell transaction take?

Once Mercuryo receives your cryptocurrency and the required blockchain confirmations have been completed, your payout will be processed.

Can I cancel my sell transaction?

Once your cryptocurrency has been sent to the wallet address provided by Mercuryo and the blockchain transaction has been processed, the transaction generally cannot be cancelled.

Why haven't I received my payout yet?

Your payout may still be processing because:

• Your cryptocurrency is waiting for blockchain confirmations.
• Your payout is being processed.
• Additional checks are required before the payout can be completed.
