1. Crypto-Asset Pricing
The rate displayed during your transaction represents the base price plus any applicable spread. This is the amount you will either pay when purchasing a crypto asset or receive when selling one.
2. Fees
Mercuryo applies three primary types of fees to crypto-asset transactions: a Network fee, a Mercuryo fee, and an Infrastructure fee.
A. Network Fee
This fee covers the costs of transferring crypto-assets and may fluctuate depending on network congestion and operational factors. It applies exclusively to On-Ramp and Swap transactions.
B. Mercuryo Fee
This fee offsets costs associated with payment processing, chargebacks, order handling, and other transaction-related services. It applies to On-Ramp and Off-Ramp transactions.
- For users accessing Mercuryo services, the fee ranges from 0% to 5.5%, with a minimum of €1 for smaller on-ramp/buy transactions and and €4 for off-ramp/sell transactions.
- For purchases or sales conducted in currencies other than EUR, an extra fee of 0.25% to 1% applies, depending on the chosen fiat currency.
In all scenarios, the Mercuryo fee will be displayed clearly as a separate line item both when you initiate and when you confirm your order. Our average service fee is 3.95%. If you access Mercuryo services directly via the Mercuryo website, mobile application, or through any integrations with other platforms that provide access to Mercuryo services, optimized by payment method, region, currency pair, and other parameters, the Mercuryo fees outlined below will apply:
Service | Mercuryo Service Fee |
|---|---|
| Buy / on-ramp (cards, mobile pay, alternative payment methods) | up to 5.5%, or min of €1 |
| Buy / on-ramp (bank transfers) | up to 3%, or min of €2 |
| Sell / off-ramp | Up to 3.95%, or min of €4 |
| Receive or withdraw to/from Mercuryo wallet | no fees |
C. Infrastructure Fee
This fee is a percentage-based charge determined by certain Mercuryo partners and is applied to the total transaction amount. Typically ranging from 0% to 2%, never exceeding 5%. You’ll see the Infrastructure Fee highlighted as a distinct item during order confirmation.
3. Spreads
Additional spread may be applied to the crypto-asset price shown during your transaction. This spread accounts for factors such as market volatility, the need to maximize the success of transactions, and other operational costs not captured by separate fees.
The spread is embedded in the displayed crypto-asset price during checkout, representing the amount you will pay when purchasing or the amount you will receive when selling.
4. Bank-Related Charges
Your bank or card provider might charge additional fees, such as for receiving bank transfers or processing international card payments. If you’re unsure, it’s wise to consult your service provider before completing your order.
5. Operational Costs
Mercuryo incurs a variety of expenses while processing On-Ramp, Off-Ramp, and Swap transactions, including but not limited to:
- Network/Withdrawal Costs: Blockchain gas fees incurred in asset transfers.
- Third-Party Payment Costs: Fees from acquirers and banks for managing payment collections and disbursements, including charges for converting customer payments into the relevant settlement currency.
- Affiliate Fees: Commissions paid to partners.
- Order Fulfillment Costs: Costs related to liquidity providers for buying or selling crypto-assets.
- Incomplete Transaction Costs: Processing and withdrawal expenses for incomplete or canceled transactions.
- Chargeback Costs: Costs associated with refunding or handling fraud-related claims.
- Sweeping Costs: Expenses for consolidating customer deposits and rebalancing internal wallets.
In addition to these, Mercuryo invests in systems and processes for KYC compliance, fraud prevention, blockchain analysis, technology infrastructure, and transaction monitoring to deliver a seamless and secure experience for crypto-asset transactions.
6. Order Completion
Your On-Ramp order is deemed complete when we receive your payment and successfully perform all required AML checks.
Your Off-Ramp or Swap order is finalized once Mercuryo receives the crypto asset at the designated wallet address and all AML checks have been satisfied.
