Unfortunately, cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed once they have been confirmed on the blockchain.
If you've sent cryptocurrency to the wrong wallet address, Mercuryo is unable to recover or refund the funds. This is because blockchain transactions are irreversible, and we do not have control over the destination wallet or the ability to cancel or modify a completed transaction.
This also applies if you:
- Sent the cryptocurrency using the wrong blockchain network.
- Entered an incorrect or incomplete wallet address.
- Sent cryptocurrency to an address that doesn't belong to you.
Is there anything I can do?
In some cases, you may be able to recover your funds only if you control the destination wallet or by contacting the provider that owns the destination address (such as an exchange or wallet service). Recovery is entirely at their discretion and may not always be possible.
Mercuryo cannot retrieve or redirect funds once they have been successfully sent to the blockchain.
How to avoid this in the future
Before confirming a transaction, always:
- Double-check the wallet address.
- Make sure you're using the correct blockchain network.
- Verify that the receiving wallet supports the cryptocurrency and network you're using.
- If possible, send a small test transaction before transferring a larger amount.
Taking a few extra moments to verify these details can help prevent the permanent loss of funds.
